I am Scot Lienke...a mid 40’s drummer well seasoned in roots rock, rock-a-billy, blues, classic soul, old school funk, redneck jazz, contemporary Christian music, all flavors of country - honky-tonk, alt and contemporary; I even enjoy pounding out train beats over bluegrass. I am a pocket groove drummer who knows when to add color and how to use dynamics.
Splitting time between the Washington, DC metro area and the Northern Shenandoah Valley - Front Royal and Winchester, VA area. I am available and accepting work to perform in both regions. I have the ability to sub on short notice with little or no full band rehearsals.
Growing up in Columbus, a small town outside of Madison, Wisconsin; I played Madison area clubs starting at age 17.
After moving to Chicago at age 18 I played in bands with, and was coached by, the same musicians who back some of the best Blues and roots artists in Chicago and-or the world - Betsy and the Boneshakers, Lonnie Brooks, Elvin Bishop, Byther Smith, Joanna Connor, the late Paul Butterfield, and the late Son Seals. Relationships with those musicians resulted in an education in music and the music business that I am able to leverage everyday.
In 1986 my day job took to me to the Washington, DC area where I now play regularly with rock, blues, classic soul, old school funk, country and contemporary Christian worship bands throughout the area.
Memorable performances include opening for The Little River Band, Johnny Winter, Derek Trucks and playing a side stage at the Washington, DC Verizon Center at a Reba McIntyre/Brooks & Dunn concert.
